Back and thoughts about prints

Feels like I've been away for too long so now it's time to get back on track!
First I would like to thank you all for your kind comments, it really means a lot to me and I can't say that enough :)

So what have I been up to lately? Well, work as usual.

Been working with publishing houses, Advertisement Agencies, Game companies, iphone app-developers, etc. It's been hectic from time to time and sadly, my personal work has been beglected because of that.

2010 was one of my most productive years so far, and hopefully I'll be able to 2011 a really good one as well, and hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in some more personal stuff as well. Just to keep up the inspiration.

Now enough rambling!
Something that's new for this year is that I'm FINALLY gathering some artwork so I can make prints out of them!
I've already gotten a few requests.

I'm still ordering test-prints of some pieces, just to get the contrast and colour range right, and will let you know when the first limited editions have been printed.

Also, feel free to send me requests if you have a favorite piece in mind!

A tribute to the Mighty

There, it's finished!

Been wanting to make a tribute to one of my favorite stories - "Freak the Mighty". A novel written by Rodman Philbrick, which also turned into a great movie.

I've listened to the audiobook and watched the movie countless of times. So here's my interpenation of the characters, tried to depict this warm and fuzzy feeling I get from the story :)

Painted in Photoshop as always. Worked on it on and off whenever I got some smaller breaks at work.
(there's a prettier version in the portfolio at the top)

Enjoy!

And of course, Rodman Philbrick owns the rights to this wonderful story.

Some new wips

Some new wips. Gotta have something to do on my breaks inbetween commissions and work, so I keep the inspiration flowing.
Colours get really super-eww with this uploader....
The original has got a lot more contrast and vibrant colours...

My artwork in ImagineFX - issue 62!

I had the opportunity to be a part of Reader's Exposé in Imagine FX this month :) Issue 62.

Feels really awesome, I'm so grateful that they've given me the chance to showcase some of my artwork in their mag!

Another landscape

Here's another landscape... Done without refs. Was supposed to be a quick speedpaint, but no.... I just couldn't stop rendering.

Now, back to comissions! Wooh.

More wips

Just thought that I'll post these. I'm in a hurry at the moment so I'll come back later.
I made it to the "Lazy Bones" contest though, but I'm still tweaking it a little since it felt too unfinished.

And the centaurs are starting to become finished. Feels good, all the repainted versions finally payed off. I can show a comparision later on... It's pretty drastic I must say.

Laters!

Sketch: Lazy Bones

I decided to enter Ryan Wood's contest at Sketchoholic.

The topic is "Lazy Bones" and this is my sketch for the entry.
Portrait of our two awesome cats!

I have no idea if I'll manage to finish this in time, but I'll do my very best. Want to make it SO BADLY.

This is gonna be a nailbiter people :D

Done in PS with my sweet little cintiq.
